Q. Can the soiled areas be cleaned up with soap and water?
A. No. Blood and body fluids will spread when water is present. These fluids have already soaked through the flooring and into the subfloor. Blood and body fluids can also be infected with HBV, or HIV. Furthermore, decomposing body tissue can give off ammonia gas which could cause serious illness and death.
Q. Can body tissue and blood be disposed of with the regular trash?
A. No. According to OSHA Regulation 1910.1030, all items contaminated with blood or body tissue must be properly labeled and disposed.
Q. What will it cost?
A. In most cases, services are covered by homeowners and commercial
property insurance policies. Therefore, the property owner's insurance deductible is the
out-of-pocket cost. Payment plans are available for those without coverage.
